David Cameron Visit - 27th April 2005

David Cameron came to visit Newcastle on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. Newcastle and Durham CF, and members of the local Conservative Association were on the Millenium Bridge on the Newcastle Quayside. Greeted by Newcastle Chairman Chris Martin, he proceded to meet members of the large crowd gathered to see him and gave interviews to local newspapers, including Newcastle University's "The Courier".
Funnily enough, Ant and Dec interrupted the event when they made us all get off the bridge so that their boat could get underneath. The picture of the boat going underneath the Millenium bridge captures the moment, but you can't tell it's them.
A big thanks goes to Dave and his team for coming 'up north' and seeing us.

General Election Night 2005 at the Baltic Art Gallery, Gateshead

Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Durham CF branches, spent all election night running around a giant map, spray-painting the constituencies in party colours as the results came in, for the BBC. Of course, the Tory contingent was by far the largest there. Dressed in our best blue BBC t-shirts we got to work outside the Baltic Art Gallery on the Gateshead Quayside. The Gateshead Millenium Bridge can be seen in a few photos. It was a really good night, helped by the fact that there was free food and drink.
